A 30-something barrister from the United Kingdom with a soft spot for philosophy. Expect meditations on existentialism and ethics, occasional book reviews, and surrealist fiction when I’m feeling particularly inspired. Old school blogger and a proud noughties WordPress veteran.
Education: LLB; PgDip (Bar); MA; Kellogg’s Rainbow 50m.
Academic interests: medical ethics and law; existentialism; ethics.
Enjoys: long walks (really!); reading (duh); socialising (not true but I have to say I do in this extrovert-dominated Western world); travelling (but I get irrepressible travel rage).
Doesn’t enjoy: rudeness; salad; YouTube advertisements; parking tickets; existential angst; laziness (my own included).
Inspired by: Marie Curie; Jean-Paul Sartre (he did well for a stereotypically unsightly chap); Stephen Coleridge; Alexander McCall Smith; and many more.
Bucket list: see a Canadiens game at the Bell Centre and a Rangers game at MSG (I’m told the latter is underwhelming); climb Mont Blanc; appear before the Court of Appeal (just once because I’ve heard it’s utterly terrifying).
Vices: caffeine; nicotine; food I shouldn’t eat; ice hockey.
Virtues: vegetarian; the quiet and contemplative type who’ll let you speak; self-effacing to a fault.
